Comet Nishimura (C/2023 P1) captured about 25 minutes after rising in the pre-dawn sky on September 10,2023 with the sky bright with morning twilight colours. The comet was only about 4º above the horizon at this time. This was about 5:25 am MDT.

Those bright nebulas are set amid a complex of fainter nebulosity,notably the Clamshell Nebula at left,as it has become known recently,and catalogued as Sharpless 2-119. At bottom right is the curving Cygnus Arc,aka IC 5068. The small star cluster NGC 7044 is below the Clamshell.

M45 is embedded in the Zodiacal Light. The star clusters M35 in Gemini and M41 in Canis Major are also visible as diffuse spots, as are several other star clusters. On August 24,2023 the waxing gibbous Moon occulted the bright star Antares in Scorpius. This is the scene about 30 minutes after the star reappeared from behind the moving Moon,and so here is a close conjunction. I missed capturing the actual occultation reappearance,though that would have been in a much brighter sky. And the Moon was low in my sky and amid the trees,here purposefully included to capture the scene low in the south,as Antares always is in late summer from my latitude of 51° N. .

The well-publicized - if not overly publicized! - supermoon (a perigee Full Moon) of November 14, 2016, seen here about 3 degrees above the horizon, rising out of low clouds. The yellow colour is natural, and illuminated the field with a golden glow. However, this is a stack of 4 exposures, from long to short, to create an “HDR” style stack as the longest exposure needed for the clouds blew out the bright Moon. A short exposure was needed for the Moon itself. I took 4 exposures at about 2 stop increments from 1.5 seconds to 1/15 second and blended them not with HDR software but with luminosity

The bright blue star cluster NGC 1981 shines above the Running Man. The subtle reflection nebula NGC 1999 is below M42 but a bit lost amid the other faint and dusty nebulosity.
The wonderful open star clusrter NGC 6124 in Scorpius amid a field of dark nebulas and on the edge of a bright star cloud with red emission nebulosity. I call this the Dark River Cluster.

Orion, at right, rising in star trails behind the old plough, at home, on a bright moonlit night in November, with light from a waxing gibbous Moon. Procyon is just rising above the horizon at left. Clouds from incoming winter weather bringing snow are intruding at right. Exposures started about 7:30 pm with Orion just starting to rise, and ended at about 10 pm with Orion at upper right in the frame.

The area is filled with colourful nebulosity, including yellow and blue reflection nebulas and magenta emission nebulas. To the right of Antares is the globular cluster Messier 4. The field is similar to what binoculars would take in.

Capella is the bright star due north down the north-south range road at right. The bright NLCs contrast with the dark silhouettes of the closer and lower tropospheric clouds. A gibbous Moon lights the foreground.

Above NGC 457 is smaller NGC 436 and above NGC 663 is smaller NGC 654. To the right of NGC 663 is NGC 659. Between NGC 663 and the bright blue star Ruchbah is Messier 103. The yellowed cluster in the extreme lower left corner is Be 6.
